Our Academy and Select Soccer Programs feature a higher level of training and development compared to a Recreational League.  It involves skill instruction by professional, licensed coaches.  We are proud to have the following experienced coaches heading our Academy and Select Soccer Programs...

Ron has over 14 years of soccer experience with BYSO teams at all levels, including recreation, Academy and Inferno Select soccer.  He currently serves as the Director of Training and Coaching for BYSO, and has served as Director of Coaching for Bastrop Arsenal and as Upper Division Commissioner for BYSO.  He is currently head Coach for the 96 and 98 Boys Select Inferno teams.  He holds a National D Coaching license and a Master of Arts degree.

Robyn has over 30 years of soccer experience beginning in Seattle, Washington.  Robyn played many years of premier Select soccer and was voted to the Washington State All-State team three consecutive years in high school.   Robyn played collegiately for Pacific Lutheran University where she became a three time National Champion.  Robyn began coaching youth soccer in 1995 and holds a class D license.  She is currently the head coach for the 96 Girls Select and Academy 99 Girls Green.

David has over 35 years of soccer experience beginning in Bolivia, South America.  David played collegiate soccer at Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City. David began his coaching career in 1990 at Elsik High School in Houston and has coached numerous youth teams, including Bastrop High School, since moving to Bastrop in 1996.  David holds a NHSSCA Level C National License.  David currently coaches the Academy 99 Boys and Girls.


James has over 20 years of soccer experience beginning in Tucson, Arizona. James played for multiple select teams throughout high school. He still enjoys competitive soccer and plays on a men’s' indoor team. James has played baseball, football, and soccer in high school and attended Sterling College on a baseball scholarship. Throughout his many years of competitive sports he has been able to travel all over the country and knows the enjoyment that the game can bring to one's life. James began coaching youth soccer in 2003 and holds multiple US Youth Soccer Youth Module Certifications as well as a USSF E License. James is currently the head coach for the 01 Girls Academy and 00 Girls Select teams. 


Stacey has over 30 years of soccer experience beginning in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.  While playing soccer, Stacey also competed in many sports, including basketball at the collegiate level and was a member of the USA Weightlifting's national team, competing at the international level.  Stacey has coached soccer for numerous years for BYSO and has served as assistant and head soccer coach for Bastrop High School.  After leaving BHS, Stacey was the coach for Smithville's Jr. High and Varsity High School soccer programs.   Stacey has also coached in the Smithville Little Kickers soccer program.  Stacey is currently working on getting her Youth License and Youth Module certifications, in addition to attaining UIL coaching credentials.
